• Injectable Fillers There are a variety of factors to consider when choosing the right filler to enhance the cheeks.  Costs play a role, as do ease of injection and how long the filler lasts.

You also need to consider your unique goals and the amount of volume required.  For large amounts of volume, Sculptra is one of the most cost-effective cheek fillers, and is the longest lasting.

However, other fillers can be effective for more subtle improvements in the face.  In that case, the duration of the filler usually takes priority in the decision.  Juvederm and Restylane last anywhere from 6-9 months and is often a popular choice.

Radiesse is also used with success, and is more cost effective than Juvederm and Restylane for the amount of months of correction you can get.

If you are looking for a more permanent solution, fat grafting with a skilled Board Certified Plastic Surgeon can be a viable option as well.  As always, it’s best to schedule a consult to discuss your goals, and from there decide the best course of treatment options.

  • Injectable Fillers For a temporary fix, popular treatments are dermal fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse and Artefill.  There are others as well, and which you use will depend entirely on the area you would like treated, and the overall objectives you’re looking for.

These objectives should be discussed, pros and cons.  From there you can decide the best course of action to suit your unique needs, and treatments can usually be done in office, with effects lasting anywhere from four-to-six months.

  • Lip Enhancement and Plumping There are of course several options for lip enhancement.  Overall though, fillers are the best option.  They are temporary, and fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane are excellent options that can provide a natural looking and feeling result.

A more permanent solution is fat grafting, but this should only be done by a highly skilled and experienced surgeon.  Lip augmentation is a bit of an art form, and facial aesthetics should always be taken into consideration as well.  Do your research and find a reputable surgeon no matter which option you choose.

  • Lip Augmentation Lip fillers that work best to pass “the kiss test”, or essentially ones that have a natural look and feel, are hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane. While there may initially be a few days of swelling, the result of Juvederm and Restylane to the lips is very natural looking and feeling when it is properly injected.

Another option to consider is fat injections. These can also pass the kiss test, but should only be performed by a highly experienced cosmetic surgeon. And the fat must be taken from your own body, so that can be a downside. However, fat injections can be permanent when done properly, so that is something to consider.

It’s best to stay away from fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, or collagens. Collagen is hard to find these days, and the other two are just not meant for the lips.
